RESET.  RENEW.  RESTORE.

This is a crazy-exciting moment for our team at Wings Like Eagles.  We enthusiastically announce the arrival of our newest contributor, Rossy Mosqueda, Certified Fitness Instructor and Lifestyle Coach to the masses.

Her column will run every-other-Thursday.

In addition to having the qualifications to tell me that simply wearing my exercise clothes won't get me to my fitness goals, she is also qualified to tell me why I'm so danged neurotic, or at least share the relevant theories of many a published psychologist.

These qualifications are a perfect marriage for all of us at Wings Like Eagles.

Rossy (pronounced "rosie") has linked the relationship between physical health and mental health.  And she shares her findings with not only great conviction, but also from experience.  Rossy is a survivor of Family Crisis and brings a relevant understanding to us all.

Rossy was born and raised in Southern California.

She had a very active childhood in music, sports, cheerleading, and dance.  She danced professionally as a Latin American and Spanish Folklore dancer for over 10 years.

She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University Long Beach, and received her Medical Terminology certification from Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Rossy’s passion for fitness ignited during her junior year in college. At 34% body fat, she realized she needed to make some significant changes in her life.  She was a self starter and lost 40lbs in less than a year on her own, by exercising and changing her eating habits.  Having found a new passion in life and wanting to share her experiences with others and motivate others, she began teaching group fitness classes in 2007.

She is currently a certified trainer and group fitness instructor.  She teaches a variety of group fitness classes ranging from Kickboxing, Pilates, Yoga, TRX Suspension Training, Boot Camp, Spinning and high intensity interval workouts.

Rossy is also a lifestyle coach for a major corporate wellness company on the East Coast, emphasizing corporate wellness by creating awareness, generating interest, encouraging and promoting participation in corporate Comprehensive Wellness Programs.

Her continued interest in education, and being well informed with all the latest research and developments in the health and wellness industry, has led her to seek her Master’s degree in Public Health and credential as a Certified Health Education Specialist with an emphasis on community health awareness.  She is also in the process of being certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Rossy has a passion for motivating others and sharing her personal experiences on the challenges of not only losing weight but with the debilitating and cloudy world of depression and anxiety attacks.  She wants to help others lead a healthy lifestyle and guide them in achieving their wellness goals. She is looking forward to providing wellness programs to help people understand their current health status and how to lower their health risks.

Rossy will give people the opportunity and encouragement they need to actively participate in improving their health. She will help them attain their goals in order to accomplish their desired success story and give that friendly push to anyone she can.  She is committed to being a trusted resource for wellness.

And if anyone tells her about my chocolate habit, there will be consequences!  Shhh!
