My First Blog Post...Ever!!

So it seems fitting that my first-ever written word on my new blog would be "so."  Have you ever noticed that bloggers frequently open a new blog with that word?  It's caught my attention.  I've been watching bloggers...stalking their sites from afar as I've made pathetic attempts to figure out how a blog becomes a blog, while maintaining my strong need for independence.  Quietly, and from the shadows, I read others' works and I observe how they do it.  Because I hate to ask for help.  :)

Writing the blog is the easy part--it comes as naturally to me as breathing, or eating chocolate.  Unfortunately, there is a lot more involved than just writing the thing, and it's for that reason that it's taken me so long to jump on the blogging bandwagon.

As happy as I am to be this far, finally publishing my first post, please know that I know that I will be making a lot of changes in the appearance of my blog, the layout of my blog, and the means by which I present and share my blog.  But as fluid as I know this is going to be, there are some constants I want to hold to:

My Blog is an attempt to stay in contact with the people I have had in the various stages of my life, and bring them all together to where I am now.

My Blog is an attempt to keep myself writing.  It's what I do, and how I process much of which goes on in my head and in my heart.

My Blog is an attempt to bring awareness to a cause I have dedicated my life to...Helping Families in Crisis.

My Blog is an attempt to change the world for the better, one word at a time.  I choose to offer encouragement, validation, hope, friendship, and perspective as I share of my own experiences.

My Blog is my voice, but it is also my ear, as I hope to hear from you and get your feedback.

So here's to the journey!  I hope you follow me...:)
